No. 7 Natural Blush - Coral Flush

If you're a frequent shopper at Boots and a beauty lover like me, you'll know how satisfying it is when the cashier gives you a coupon for £5 of No. 7 products. A few weeks ago, I redeemed my lovely voucher on one of the blushers from their 'Natural Blush' collection. This one is Coral Flush.

To be honest, I think the name is a bit deceiving. It isn't really what I have in mind for a coral colour when it's in the pan, even more so when I put it on my cheeks. None the less, I absolutely love it. It's a bright, rosy pink with a small hint of gold shimmer. It looks pretty bright at first especially when I think of how pale I am (clown wasn't the look I was going for) but it actually sheers out really nicely.

Here's the blush swatched against my natural skin tone. Granted, my foundation makes me a little bit darker (but it is the lightest shade in the range so we're not talking tangerine) but it's bright on my cheeks without being garish and completely too obvious. When I think about it... it actually does live up the name these range of blushes has - 'Natural'! I'd definitely think about buying another in a different colour.

The No. 7 Natural Blush's are sold in the UK at Boots stores and online, with a retail price of £9.50 for 5 grams of product. The Natural Blush's can also be found in the USA at Target stores carrying the No.7 line and also on their website, with a retail price of around $8.99.

Until next time, Ellen x

Nail Polish Additions

On the 28th of June, I celebrated my 18th Birthday! Naturally, the people who know me best clearly do know me well enough to treat me to some lovely nail polishes, so here's the new additions to my collection!

This Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure was a gift from one of my friends who loves nail polish equally as much as I do. First Kiss is from the Spring 2011 Tracy Reese collection. It's a lovely, muted pink that is actually rather brighter on the nails than I thought it would be!

Another friend got me these two lovely No. 7 by Boots Stay Perfect nail colours. They're both from the 'pigment rich' range, and after doing a couple of swatches it seems they really do live up to expectations! Stand Back is a bright blue with a creme finish.

From the same friend and collection as above, Foxglove is a lovely plum purple.

Pansy by Essie is a lovely hot pink, but not obnoxiously bright and garish. One of my new favourites.

Ah, Tart Deco by Essie. I'd been lusting after this for a while, and when I stumbled across it on a whim in a local store that never usually stocks Essie, I took it as a sign and bought it as a present to myself. (totally acceptable, right?) I love it. It's a peachy orange colour, creme finish. It looks slightly different on the nail than in person, with more of a neon, bright finish.

So, there we have it! I'm very pleased and grateful for all my lovely new nail polishes, and I'm sure they'll be featuring in numerous NOTDs in the near future. (Spoiler Alert: I'm wearing one of these polishes right now...)

Until next time! Ellen.

Re-launch!

I'm Ellen, and before I completely changed this blog about 10 minutes ago this was Lacquertopia. I used to post between the Summer and Fall of 2011, but then school got on top of me and the blog was no more..

But I've decided to start again, but this time I'll be dipping into beauty, fashion and lifestyle as well as nail polish (as much as I love nail polish, I've recently become a make up junkie as well!)

Thank you to the followers who have stayed with me despite my inactivity and I hope this can be a more sustainable and enjoyable project for me, I'm certainly looking forward to it!

Ellen x
